The identifiers for the Office apps, such as Word and Outlook, can be used for Office for Mac (from an Office 365 or Microsoft 365 subscription plan) or for Office 2019 for Mac (either a retail or a volume licensed version). If an update is pending for MAU itself, that update must be applied before any applications can be updated. Select how to install updates. To have AutoUpdate automatically manage Word and other Office product updates, select Automatically Download and Install. If you’d rather be prompted to install updates rather than have them download automatically, select Automatically Check instead. To keep updating Word manually, select Manually Check.
